About our Founders

Meet Founders,
Faith and Serena!

Faith Adiele (professor at California College of the Arts and author of Meeting Faith) and Serena W. Lin (writer, attorney, and starship pilot) were hosts to the weekly online session for members of the BIPOC writing community.

They hosted the first BIPOC Writing Party on March 24, 2020, during the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic quarantine to hold a space for people of color to convene as community. After the first session was met with overwhelming support and creativity, they decided to continue to host the event and to invite guest co-hosts from time to time.

They “retired” from serving as the hosts of the BIPOC Writing Party on September 28, 2020. After 28 weeks of supporting the writing and community of others, they handed over the reins to stellar new hosts, Miguel Angel Angeles and Faria Ali. Faith and Serena continue to make regular appearances at Parties. They serve on a host committee with Faria and Miguel where together the group shapes the direction and content of this beloved community.
