GUEST HOST

Guest hosts join Maya and Tara, to provide two thoughtful writing prompts that the community writes toward in real time. At the end, we share (optional) a tiny sliver of the day’s work. Guest hosts are invited to read from their work, or host a Q&A for the community, and we promote their work throughout the evening. We ‘pass the hat’ for all guest hosts, and offer a $100 stipend to Black and Indigenous guest hosts.

Are you Black, Indigenous, or a Person of Color? Want a creative community space on a Monday night?

BIPOC Writing Community is open to ALL people of color. You don’t need to identify as a writer, just show up with writing tools and a desire to connect. You won’t have to share what you write, but you can!

We write 2 prompts for 20 minutes, with a 10 minute break in-between. After we write, we have time for optional sharing, announcements, and community.

Another way to participate is to be our tech person for one of the Writing Parties. We give instruction and lots of appreciation!
